A new teaser for the revival of Twin Peaks shows series regulars from the show's original early Nineties run as they look today. The celebrated cult show is set to return more than a quarter century after the original, unplanned series finale with a two-part premiere in Australia via Stan on May 22nd.
In less than a minute, the clip shows characters Big Ed Hurley (played by actor Everett McGill), Carl Rodd (Harry Dean Stanton), Sarah Palmer (Grace Zabriskie), Deputy Andy Brennan (Harry Goaz), Deputy Tommy "Hawk" Hill (Michael Horse) and FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) as they are in 2017.
The entire 18-part revival series has been directed by co-creator David Lynch. Its story picks up 25 years after the murder of high-school homecoming queen Laura Palmer – the central mystery in the original series. Each episode was written by Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost.
After the season premiere ends, Showtime subscribers will be able to access the third and fourth episodes in the series via the channel's Showtime Anytime service and Showtime On Demand. The network will continue posting two new episodes after each official airing (i.e., when episodes three and four air, subscribers can access five and six).
