Harrison Ford greets Ryan Gosling with a gun in the ominous debut teaser-trailer for Blade Runner 2049, the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi classic, Blade Runner. The clip, filled with snowy streets and reddish-orange landscapes, showcases the atmospheric visual work of director Denis Villeneuve and cinematographer Roger Deakins.
The dystopian film, set 30 years after the events of Blade Runner, stars Gosling as LAPD Officer K, who unearths a dangerous secret that could crumble the remnants of society. K tracks down Ford's iconic character Rick Deckard, a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for three decades.
In the clip, Deckard tells Officer K, "I had your job once – I was good at it." The clip ends with the reclusive Deckard emerging from the shadows within the massive headquarters of the Tyrell Corporation, pointing a weapon at his successor.
Blade Runner 2049 opens in Australia cinemas on October 5th, 2017. The film co-stars Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto.
