The debut trailer for Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast reveals an innocent Belle, played by Emma Watson and tormented Beast, played by Dan Stevens.
The dark clip opens with Belle sacrificing her freedom to replace her father, Maurice (Kevin Kline), as prisoner at the Beast's vast castle. There, Belle meets the cast of quick-witted, anthropomorphised household objects, who ponder if she can break the nefarious spell over the castle.
Beauty and the Beast, which hits Australia theatres March 23rd, 2017, also stars Luke Evans (Gaston), Ewan McGregor (Lumiere), Ian McKellen (Cogsworth), Josh Gad (LeFou) and Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts). Alan Menken, who scored the 1991 animated original, reprised his role for the upcoming film and co-wrote new songs with Tim Rice.
