The Fast and the Furious family tries to rescue one of their own in the explosive new trailer for the franchise's eighth instalment, The Fate of the Furious. The movie opens in Australia on April 12th.
In the new film, Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto goes rogue and partners with a wily criminal named Cipher (Charlize Theron), who wreaks havoc around the globe by digitally controlling every car on the road. To save Dom and stop Cipher, the family embarks on yet another absurd mission that requires them to unite with former foe, Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham).
The Fate of the Furious trailer also teases plenty of mind-boggling, physics-defying and property-destroying stunts. Among the highlights are troves of cars raining out of New York City parking garages, Ludacris driving a tank across a frozen tundra and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson diverting the trajectory of a torpedo while hanging out of a moving snowmobile.
The Fate of the Furious also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell and Helen Mirren. The film is also the first full movie in the franchise without star Paul Walker, who died during the filming of Furious 7.
