A young executive played by Dane DeHaan is pushed to the brink of insanity in the new trailer for A Cure for Wellness. The film, due in Australia cinemas on February 16th, is directed by Gore Verbinski. Wellness marks the Pirates of the Caribbean director's return to the horror movie genre after more than a decade of big-budget action movies.
A Cure for Wellness is set into motion by DeHaan's absent boss, who is sequestered at a therapeutic institute in Switzerland. The establishment is run by doctor, Jason Isaacs, full of polished talk about the importance of removing toxins from the body. When DeHaan is sent to find his employer, he runs into another patient (Mia Goth), who informs him that the facility is much like the lodging in the Eagles' "Hotel California" – you can check in, but you can never leave.
Verbinski last directed 2013's The Lone Ranger. But the last horror film he directed was The Ring. Another sequel to that movie, titled Rings, is due in 2017 directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez.
