Singer-songwriter Alex Lahey recently dropped by the Rolling Stone office to play an acoustic — and significantly more sombre — version of her normally punk-rock single "Every Day's the Weekend", lifted from her brilliant 2017 debut I Love You Like a Brother.
In an October interview with Rolling Stone, Lahey spoke about the creative development that led to her full-length debut. "The more conscious I became of my own songwriting, the less I wanted to compromise," she explains, adding that she's "no lone wolf. I love collaborating. But you’ve got to be really sure about what the project is, and articulate that directly and fairly."
Having just wrapped a run of Europe dates, Lahey is currently on tour across North America, with upcoming shows scheduled for Chicago, Austin and L.A; remaining dates here.
