On Monday, we shared a video of Melbourne funk trio Cookin' On 3 Burners performing their latest track "Real Life Baby", live at our Sydney office. Today, we reveal the accompanying animated clip, exclusively premiering via Rolling Stone Australia.
The colourful collage — created by Berlin-based Australian visual artist Lucy Dyson — traces the uptempo song's path from hedonism to hangover, following a flock of hearts as they joyfully skip through a morning after "feeling light as a feather". The permanently smiling organs float atop all aftermath evidence of a good night in — discharged ciggies, dirty undies and liquor of all description — while vocalist Emmi does her darnedest to shine some hope on the post-chaos scene via a series of glowing one-liners ("I don't have a care now"), presented more as hope than conviction.
