Watch Crooked Colours Reinvent Electro-Pop Track 'Come Back To You'

More

Perth electro-pop trio Crooked Colours stopped by our Sydney office earlier this month to perform a stripped-back rendition of latest single "Come Back To You", from new LP Vera.

While the original is propelled by a fidgety beat that builds to a euphoric hands-up level, here the trio accentuate the desperation of the song's pleaded hook, partnering the barebone percussion, acoustic guitar and scattered synth keys with vocalist Philip Slabber's wonderfully vulnerable, wavering tone.

The band have just wrapped an August run of national dates, which they're set to follow up with a selection of festival appearances — Yours & Owls in Wollongong on September 30th, Newcastle's This That on November 4th and on November 25th at Canberra event, Spilt Milk. Between which they head overseas for an Europe tour throughout October; dates and details here.
