Hear DEX, Allday Cut Through the Haze on Reflective '4AM'

18-year-old Melbourne rapper DEX enlists Allday for a guest spot on the autotune-assisted, "4AM", exclusively premiering today via Rolling Stone Australia.

Much like 2016 breakout "Rooftops" — the centrepiece of his Young Zen EP — "4AM" takes a reflective route, as the young MC ponders all late-night options at the intersection of love, lust and loneliness. Drunken regrets, potential relationships and reflections on dependency circle the head-nodding hook, as DEX delivers poignant, suggestive lines ("you don't know what's going on inside my head") alongside more direct swoons ("I never feel alone when I lie with you"). Allday, meanwhile, plays a more jovial role on his bars, jabbing with Nirvana-related metaphors before stuttering a return serve back to our protagonist for an aptly exhausted, spaced-out drift towards the sun-rising last call.

DEX celebrates the release with a run of live shows next month, including an all-ages gig at Melbourne's Wrangler Studios on September 2nd, plus 18+ events at Boney in Melbourne on September 9th and at Sydney's Brighton Bar on September 21st.
