Kendrick Lamar Added to Bluesfest Line-up

In an unexpected twist, Bluesfest have announced another huge addition to their 2016 line-up — US hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar.

The rap trailblazer will join the Byron Bay festival's other headline acts — The National, City and Colour and Joe Bonamassa — as well the most recent additions: Tom Jones, Noel Gallagher and Tweedy.

Organisers have also confirmed Lamar will play a pair of headlines shows at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Monday, March 21 and Sydney's AllPhones Arena on Wednesday, March 23. Tickets for both soles go on sale Monday, October 19 at 9am via Live Nation.

Bluesfest organisers have also confirmed the first run of festival sideshows for Sturgill Simpson, Steve Earle & The Dukes, The Wailers and The Selecter, with headline dates now scheduled around the festival's run from March 24 to 28. More information on the Bluesfest Touring website.
