Listen to Eilish Gilligan's Elastic New Track 'Creature of Habit'

Melbourne vocalist/producer Eilish Gilligan bounces between plainspoken calmness from "the edge" to stadium-sized, near-anthemic cries on new track "Creature of Habit", exclusively premiering online today via Rolling Stone Australia.

While Gilligan's vocal gymnastics is the attention-commanding draw of "Creature of Habit", she cleverly compliments her lead with a similarly restless composition, which fidelity flips from tape hiss wobble to commanding trunk rattle, as bass groans and the peppered production details delicately merge into both minimal dream-pop pauses and more engulfing, spacious synths.

Material so far from the Melbourne songwriter has been relatively sparse, with "Creature of Habit" her first new music since the equally-fidgeting 2016 track "The Feeling".

While you wait for new songs and a possible debut release to surface, you can catch Gilligan performing a run of hometown shows next month — on the 4th alongside Rin McArdle at the Evelyn Hotel, at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music for their Node O serie on October 7th and supporting Yeo at the Howler on the 14th.
