Watch Ten Fé Perform Haunting, Acoustic Version of 'Twist Your Arm'

More

Earlier this month, London duo Ten Fé released their debut album, Hit The Light. It's a record of open roads and optimism, supplied from both sides of their unusual, sparring duality — darker edges of pop-electronica partnered with a more organic Americana source; equal parts Cut Copy and Kurtvile.

Here, however, in an exclusive live video performance of album track "Twist Your Arm", the duo — Ben Moorhouse and Leo Duncan — go bare-bones, squeezing out the sonic-drenched synths that dominate the original for a sparser palette, alongside boosting the catchy hook — "I don't understand why I've gotta twist your arm, just to hold your hand" — to a more prominent position, accentuating its passionate plea of desperation. Performed "tucked up" in their studio in Walthamstow, East London on a particularly cold day this winter, the recording featuring additions of electric guitar and drums to the pair's acoustic centre.

"It was written on an acoustic guitar," explains Duncan, "The song itself originally channelled the much bluesier, delta feel which you get in this version here. It's simpler, more raw — just voices and guitar."

The band have also announced the release of a special new remix package, featuring five reinterpretations of Hit The Light tracks, including a disco blitz of "Twist Your Arm" by Norwegian producers Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas:

Hit The Light: The Remixes will be available in Australia from March 24th.

Hit The Light: The Remixes Track List

2. "Turn" (Ewan Pearson Remix)
3. "Another Way" (Tom Furse Extrapolation)
4. "Twist Your Arm" (Roman Flügel Remix)
