On Tuesday, The Getaway Plan announced they'll be blowing the dust off their seminal 2008 debut, Other Voices, Other Rooms, taking the album back on the road for a national tour in September.
The tour will see the band perform two sets in each city, including Other Voices, Other Rooms in its entirety, alongside tracks from their other two studio LPs — 2011's Requim and 2015's Dark Horses.
In 2006, the Getaway Plan released their first EP, Hold Conversation, touring extensively following its release before starting work on their first full-length, Other Voices, Other Rooms. The album, released in February, 2008, spawned the radio hits "Streetlight" and "Where the City Meets the Sea". Just over a year after the album's release the band called it quits, announcing in March, 2009 that "The Getaway Plan will no longer continue to make music together."
The hiatus ended just over two years later when, after a handful of reunion shows and several cryptic clues posted online, the band officially confirmed their reunion, following up the news with the release of their second full-length, Requiem, on November 4th, 2011. Since their reformation, the band has gone through a series of line-up changes ahead of settling on the current formation featuring founding members, vocalist/guitarist Matthew Wright and guitarist Clint Owen Ellis, alongside drummer Dan Maio and bassist Mike Maio. This incarnation of the Getaway Plan recorded the band's third LP, Dark Horses — their first since parting with long-time label/management, UNFD — which, following contributions raised through a crowdfunding campaign, was independently released on July 3rd, 2015, debuting at #10 on the ARIA charts.
