Beloved Melbourne indie-pop fivesome, The Ancients, announce their return via "Frozen Aisle", the title track from the band's forthcoming new LP.

In true Ancients style of straight-faced absurdity, the track features a quirky blend of sparsity and cluttered over-detail, with dramatic sweeps slicing up the barely audible lyrics that snugly sit and tangle themselves amidst the psych-pop palette of playful, plodding rhythms and less-restrained, floating dream-rock guitar.

An altogether normal (yet not) theme mirrored by the playful, DIY video — exclusively premiering today via Rolling Stone Australia — which features an innocent picnic scene disrupted by a biohazard suit-wearing garbage picker. Freestyle, interpretive dance moves follow (of course), as do disrupting horns and dead-eyed stares. Comforting with the controlling, underplayed hand and enthralling for the teasing tip-toe towards some of chaotic climax. No spoilers.

Frozen Aisle is due February 23rd via Tenth Court. It will be the band's first full-length release since 2013's Night Bus.
