On Friday, Bluesfest revealed a fresh batch of line-up additions for the 2018 Easter long-weekend festival, with genre-hopping pop-star Kesha (pictured) and Grammy Award winners Sheryl Crowe and Melissa Etheridge heading up the new announcement.
Kesha's visit to Australia comes after what has been a turbulent few years for the pop star, which has seen her tangled in a bitter legal battle with producer Dr. Luke centred around sexual assault allegations, as well release a "excellent comeback record", Rainbow, praised by Brittany Spanos in her Rolling Stone review: "sounds refreshed and vividly modern, battle-tested and born again."
Alongside the other pair of big names — Crow and Etheridge — the five-day Byron Bay festival will now also feature performances from South American artists Juana and San Jorge, as well as Brit Newton Faulkner and Icelandic singer-songwriter Asgeir. Far closer to home, Byron Bay local Ziggy Alberts also jumps on the bill, as well as psych-pop boundary-pushers Holy Holy, folk-storyteller William Crighton and multi-instrumentalist wonder Harts.
This latest crop join a line-up headed up by the previously announced Lionel Richie, Robert Plant, Jason Isbell and others. View the full line-up, as it now stands, below.
Bluesfest 2018 is set to run across the Easter long weekend, from Thursday, March 29th to Monday, April 2nd. Tickets are available now via the festival website.
